What is a Civil Funeral Ceremony?
A civil funeral isĀ driven by the wishes and beliefs of the deceased and/or their family and friends, NOT the beliefs or ideology of the person conducting the service.
As a professionally trained Civil Funeral Celebrant, I will help you create a unique and bespoke funeral ceremony that is exactly as you wish it to be.
The content of the ceremony may be non-religious or semi-religious dependent upon your values and beliefs.
Funeral ceremonies should be as unique as each individual.
I will respect your choices and will meet with you to discuss the content in detail.
You will be able to review the ceremony content beforehand and I will offer a presentation copy of the full text after I have delivered the ceremony.
My Commitment to You
Prior to becoming a Civil Funeral Celebrant I worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years. I have been privileged and honoured to have cared for many people at varying stages of their life journey.
Treating people as individuals and with respect has been a core value of mine. This has underpinned everything I have had to offer as a professional. This commitment I continue to offer to families as they deal with the loss of a family member or loved one.
I will work with you and your funeral director to create a ceremony that captures the true essence of the life lived. Everything during the service should reflect the true character and personality of the person who has died.
I can weave into the ceremony, poetry, music and words of comfort. If it is your personal choice, hymns and prayers can be included. I will deliver a ceremony that is unique, that honours the life lived and is ultimately the most fitting and memorable farewell.
